بسم الله الرحمن الرحيم
For far too long the God debate in the public sphere has been dominated by personalities who have little knowledge of the vast philosophical literature on the subject. Whilst these people may be experts in their respective fields (usually the sciences), their ignorance of natural theology is evident in the quality of the arguments that they put forward. Unfortunately, the general public – themselves lay people when it comes to philosophy – are too quick to accept these arguments, not having the tools to properly analyse them and being over-awed by their proponents’ scientific credentials.
This site brings together important papers in the philosophy of religion with the aim of showing that belief in God is rational and justified. In doing so I hope to also expose the intellectual shallowness of many of the celebrity atheists out there, showing their arguments to be without merit. These papers cover topics such as the nature of knowledge and rationality, arguments for and against the existence of God, and questions surrounding the existence of the soul. Whilst a number of the authors are not believers themselves, the conclusions that they argue for are supportive of a religious world view.
If you have come across any papers that you think are worth including on this site, please post your suggestions below or email me at firstname.lastname@example.org
